We are currently looking to hire a Carbon Reporting Manager for our client who are a well-funded developer, owner, and operator in the renewable natural gas sector across the United States. They currently have over 25 live projects across 16 states and need a Carbon Reporting Manager to conduct due diligence on their nature-based carbon projects, design quality monitoring systems, renewable energy and low carbon projects whilst supporting ESG reporting.
The Carbon Manager will play a critical role in supporting RNG output by interpreting technical measurements, reporting findings, managing Carbon Intensity (CI) reports, supporting low carbon fuel transactions, and developing innovative products and services.
Below is a list of the key responsibilities for the role, whilst not exhaustive, that you’ll need to be able to perform.
- Design, plan, and execute key systems for ongoing quality monitoring and reporting for a diverse portfolio of carbon projects.
- Ensure satisfactory quality and efficiency of their CI monitoring measurements and data.
- Innovate their monitoring processes to improve cost efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of the data collected.
- Support ESG reporting and data management needs.
- Develop and maintain subject-matter expertise in the following clean fuels regulation areas:
- Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS)
- California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS)
- Oregon Clean Fuels Program (CFP)
- Other national, state, local, or voluntary regulations, as applicable
- Analyze data to determine validity, quality, and significance to interpret correlations between company’s activities and environmental effects.
- Run Life-cycle analysis and carbon intensity modeling.
- Manage and improve upon a system of ongoing monitoring to ensure that credits are delivering the desired impact in terms of carbon emissions reduction and carbon storage.
- Report CI findings to the team and recommend actions to lower their readings.
- Manage the delivery of CI reports, establish subject matter expert practices to support low carbon fuel financial transactions, as well as have a key role in development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects.
Below are some of the key skills required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as economics, agricultural science, biometrics, or analytics.
- 5 years plus of work experience in, or adjacent to, the voluntary carbon market, engineering, environmental, policy, or compliance focused.
- Deep understanding of the mechanics of nature-based carbon crediting (methodologies, accounting, reporting).
- Demonstrated knowledge of scientific and ecological processes influenced by carbon project activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of statistical techniques and methods.
- Experience in renewable energy, energy pricing, grid operations, energy management.
- Experience with carbon capture and CI modeling skills.
